Jim Manley Splendor in the Brass 2
Back for another go around with his small big band, Jim gets the band swinging again! Great playing, great display of sheer power and chops, but for me, the best thing on this CD is a beautiful tribute to the late Maynard Ferguson, the song, For Maynard, written and recorded by Jim just two days after Maynard passed away, this song is worth the price of the album alone. Another great CD from this great trumpet player and trumpet fan.
